Murray Newman was born and raised in Bryan, Texas and is a graduate of Bryan High School. He graduated with a B.A. in History from Texas A&M University in 1995 and a J.D. from the University of Houston in 1999.
Murray worked from 1999 to 2008 as an Assistant District Attorney at the Harris County District Attorney's Office, leaving as a Felony District Court Chief. During his tenure as a prosecutor, he tried cases ranging from traffic violations to Capital Murder.
Entering private practice in 2008, Murray has focused his practice on defending criminal cases in Harris County and the surrounding areas, including Brazos County. He also serves as a legal consultant on the Oxygen Channel's Cold Justice.
Murray is a member of the Houston Bar Association, the Texas Aggie Bar Association, and the Texas Criminal Lawyer's Association.
